Free Tax Assistance @ the Library

Beginning on Tuesday, February 13th and continuing on every Tuesday until April 10th, experienced AARP representatives will be available, by appointment, to assist low and middle income families and senior citizens with filing their tax returns. 

All federal and state forms will be filed electronically. Please bring the following items: 2016 tax paperwork, photo I.D, all income for 2017 taxes, Social Security Card for everyone on tax return, and Proof of Insurance for under 65. If you are a senior, you can use your Medicare Card. If you are a Power of Attorney for someone, bring POA paperwork. Lastly, if you are filing jointly, both must be present at appointment. 

Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment time in order to complete paperwork. Appointments are in 30 minute increments, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Call for an appointment at 815-223-2341. Last appointment is at 2:30 p.m.

Appointments are available on a “first come, first serve basis,” so reserve now! This program is administered through the AARP Foundation in cooperation with the IRS. The Library is located at 305 Marquette Street, LaSalle, IL and is ADA compliant and welcoming.
