Event Date:
Apr 18 2017 - 6:00pm

Join us on Tuesday, April 18th at 6:00 p.m., when Historian, Victor Croasdale, will present, “The End of Empires…the Last Imperial War.”

In his talk, Victor will discuss the geopolitical events leading up to the Great War, later to be known as World War I, and the course of the war and the events which lead to the involvement of America’s entry.

Detailed models of period aircraft and ships, all personally crafted and authentically-detailed by Croasdale, are on display as well as models on loan from Lou Scheri of Oglesby.  This year marks the 100th anniversary of America's entry into  World War I.  An authentic World War I American military uniform, worn by Private Cecil E. Erickson, and personal belongings, on loan from his daughter, Marilyn Dunker of Spring Valley, are on display on the Library’s second level.
