Enlightening and Inspiring Generations with Generations of Ideas

Young Rembrandts: Free Drawing Workshops

Event Date:
Apr 12 2017 - 10:00am

Join us, on Wednesday, April 12th, when the LaSalle Public Library hosts two drawing workshops for children. Art Instructor, Kim Schaefer, from Young Rembrandts will lead these creative events and assist participants in developing art skills and techniques that will enable the young artists to create original works.

Using the "see, touch, do" method of instruction, children's creativity takes form. These successful programs, in addition to art skills, build confidence and allow kids freedom to use dimension, shape and color in ways that are truly their own.

Workshops will be broken into two age groups with the theme of “transform,” to celebrate National Library Week—Libraries Transform. The first group, for children ages 5 through 7 will be offered from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The second group, for youth ages 8 through 13 will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Both programs are free and open to the public, and all supplies will be furnished--simply bring your imagination! Each workshop is limited to 20 participants; because space is limited, registration is required. Children ages 7 years and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The LaSalle Public Library is located at 305 Marquette, LaSalle, Illinois, and is ADA compliant and welcoming. For more information or to register, please call the Library at 815-223-2341.
